You Can Win The Battle!

Bill Scott

As I am sitting in my hotel room tonight in Southern California.  I am thinking of the encouragement the Bible and many others have given us concerning the battle in which we face.

I know for Janet and I we have fought hard this year for our family, financially, our marriage and of course our latest book The Day Satan Called.  I don’t think Satan likes it when someone writes a book about the battle we are facing and lives are being changed.

I just wanted to take a minute and write down a few verses you may find great comfort in along with some great quotes on spiritual warfare.

Hebrews 4:12-13

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

John 10:10

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

We are human, but we don’t wage war with human plans and methods. We use God’s mighty weapons, not mere worldly weapons, to knock down the Devil’s strongholds… break down every proud argument that keeps people from knowing God… conquer their rebellious ideas, and we teach them to obey Christ.

Ephesians 6:10-20

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 lPut on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the 2wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against mprincipalities, against powers, against nthe rulers of 3the darkness of this age, against spiritualhosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 oTherefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand pin the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, qhaving girded your waist with truth, rhaving put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 sand having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking tthe shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And utake the helmet of salvation, and vthe sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 wpraying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, xbeing watchful to this end with all perseverance and ysupplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, zthat I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which aI am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Great quotes:

Envied by some, despised by many, hated by others, often blamed for things I never heard of or had nothing to do with… often sick in body as well as perplexed in mind and embarrassed by circumstances-had not the Lord been specially gracious to me, had not my mind been sustained by the conviction that the work is His and that He is with me in what it is no empty figure to call “The think of the conflict,” I must have fainted or broken down. But the battles is the Lord’s, and He will conquer. We may fail-do fail continually-but He never fails. Still, I need your prayers more than ever.  James Hudson Taylor

The triumphant Christian does not fight for victory; he celebrates a victory already won.  Captain Reginald Wallis

A blind, anemic, weak-kneed flea on crutches would have a greater chance of defeating a herd of a thousand wild stampeding elephants, than the enemy has of defeating God.  Ray Comfort

We are locked in a battle. This is not a friendly, gentleman’s discussion. It is a life and death conflict between the spiritual hosts of wickedness and those who claim the name of Christ.  Francis A. Schaeffer

Many of us are hunting mice – while lions devour the land.  Leonard Ravenhill

Jesus defeated satan in Gethsemane on the cross, not by directly confronting the devil, but by fulfilling the destiny to which He had been called. The greatest battle that was ever won was accomplished by the apparent death of the victor, without even a word of rebuke to His adversary!  Francis Frangipane

God has not given us a spirit of fear.  I will not pay $10 and go to the movies and receive it! (In regards to horror flicks) Bill Scott

I hope you find great encouragement in todays blog.

God bless,
